Interested in helping immigrant communities achieve equitable healthcare? Apply to open a branch of Universal Care for Cultures (UCC) in your area!

Our mission:

We recognize the several hindrances immigrants experience, from cultural misunderstandings and language barriers to racial stereotypes and socioeconomic factors influencing their access to high-quality healthcare.

Our organization is dedicated to provide comprehensive programs and innovative standards of care tailored to the various needs of patients, regardless of cultural background, immigration status, or language skills.

Our model (HEAL):

Health: Improving health standards

Equity: Fair and ethical healthcare for all

Access: Eliminating discriminatory barriers for healthcare

Linguistic and Cultural Understanding: Culturally competent healthcare as our primary focus

By becoming a branch leader of UCC in your local community your responsibilities include:

  • Researching basic information on immigrant communities in your area and possible health disparities that are prevalent

  • Recruiting other students from varying cultures that possess multilingual capabilities to become volunteer translators

  • Interviewing patients and immigrants in your community

This information as well as basic interview questions, suggestions for recruitment methods, and more will be sent to you via email once you sign up using the link to the left.
